A Travel Service Boeing 737-800 on behalf of Smartwings, registration OK-TVH performing flight QS-7416 from Katowice (Poland) to Kerkyra/Corfu (Greece) with 195 people on board, was accelerating for takeoff from Katowice's runway 09 when a right main tyre burst prompting the crew to reject takeoff at high speed. The aircraft slowed safely and stopped about 1200 meters/3950 feet down the runway. Emergency services responded and checked the brakes.

The runway and airport was closed for about one hour until the aircraft was moved off the runway.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration OK-TVG reached Corfu with a delay of 3 hours.
