An Eastern Australia de Havilland Dash 8-300 on behalf of Qantas, registration VH-TQL performing flight QF-2268 from Port Lincoln,SA to Adelaide,SA (Australia), was climbing out of Port Lincoln when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine (PW123) down. The aircraft returned to Port Lincoln for a safe landing about 15 minutes after departure.

A replacement Dash 8-300 registration VH-SBG reached Adelaide with a delay of 4 hours.

The aircraft is still on the ground at Port Lincoln about 24 hours after landing.
