An Air Austral Boeing 737-800, registration F-ONGA performing flight UU-203 from Saint Denis de la Reunion (Reunion) to Nosy Be (Madagascar), was enroute at FL360 about 150nm northwest of Reunion when the crew decided to return to Reunion due to problems with the cabin pressurization. The aircraft maintained FL360 until top of descent and landed safely back about 90 minutes after departure.

The aircraft was repaired and departed again after about one hour on the ground and was enroute at FL300, when the crew decided to return a second time due to the same problem again and landed safely back a second time about 90 minutes after second departure.

The airline confirmed the occurrence indicating the crew could have continued to Madagascar, however a zero risk taking strategy has been introduced by the management. A faulty valve was replaced upon first return, a second valve was replaced after the second return. The flight was postponed to the next day.
