A KLM Boeing 777-200, registration PH-BQD performing flight KL-791 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil), was enroute at FL340 over the Atlantic about 200nm northwest of La Coruna,SP (Spain) when the crew decided to return to Amsterdam due to a malfunctioning weather radar. The aircraft descended to FL270 for the flight back and landed safely back in Amsterdam about 2 hours later.

A replacement Boeing 777-200 registration PH-BQG departed Amsterdam about 2 hours after landing and is estimated to reach Sao Paulo with a delay of 5:45 hours.
