A Rossiya Antonov AN-148, registration RA-61706 performing flight FV-644 from Mineralnye Vody to St. Petersburg (Russia) with 50 people on board, was enroute at FL300 about 120nm southeast of Roston on Don (Russia) when the crew decided to divert to Rostov due to a fuel boost pump failure. The aircraft landed safely on Rostov's runway 04 about an hour later.

Flight FV-642 flown by an Airbus A320-200 registration VQ-BDR was also diverted to Rostov to pick up the passengers of flight FV-644 and reached St. Petersburg with a total delay of 1 hour for passengers of flight FV-642 and 9.5 hours for passengers of FV-644.
