A Lufthansa Airbus A320-200, registration D-AIPD performing flight LH-2528 from Munich (Germany) to Moscow Domodedovo (Russia), suffered a fumes event at some point of the flight. The aircraft landed in Moscow Domodedovo on schedule.

The aircraft departed Moscow for the return flight LH-2529 on schedule about one hour after landing and returned to Munich without further incident.

Germany's BFU made the fumes event, BFU case number 1X005-12, known in a response to a parliamentary inquiry about the investigation results into fumes events so far stating in February 2015, that the occurrence was rated an accident in December 2014 after it became known, that a flight attendant received permanent and serious injuries as result of the fumes event, the flight attendant has since been unable to work and has been declared unfit to fly. The BFU reported that a preliminary investigation had been initiated immediately after the first notice of the occurrence was received, however, only in December 2014 evidence became available that led to the classification as accident.
