A Lufthansa Airbus A320-200, registration D-AIPD performing flight LH-1993 from Cologne/Bonn to Munich (Germany), was accelerating for takeoff from Cologne's runway 32L when an engine (CFM56) ingested a bird prompting the crew to reject takeoff at high speed. The aircraft slowed safely and returned to the apron.

A replacement A319-100 registration D-AILX reached Munich with a delay of 2 hours.
