An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N805NN performing flight AA-1027 from Boston,MA to Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA), was climbing through FL250 out of Boston when the crew decided to return to Boston due to a primary flight display going blank. The aircraft landed safely back in Boston about 45 minutes after departure.

A passenger reported that the aircraft had departed the gate on time and was taxiing towards the runway when the crew returned to the gate, the crew announced a technical problem. Following repairs the aircraft departed with a delay of about 3 hours, but stopped the climb and returned to Boston, the captain announced a primary flight display had gone blank, the original problem requiring maintenance before departure had re-occurred.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration N876NN reached Dallas with a delay of 5 hours.
