A Brussels Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration OO-SSD performing flight SN-3622 from Nice (France) to Brussels (Belgium) with 117 people on board, was enroute at FL340 about 35nm north of Geneva (Switzerland) when the crew decided to divert to Geneva after the left hand fuel quantity indication began to unexpectedly decrease prompting the crew to suspect they were losing fuel. The airport of Geneva kept the runway sterile for the emergency sending all other arrivals into holding patterns which forced one aircraft to divert to Lyon. The aircraft landed safely on Geneva's runway 05 about 16 minutes after leaving FL340 and taxied to the apron, emergency services did not see any leaking fluids.

The airline reported the fuel quantity indicator was malfunctioning.
