An Air Canada Airbus A319-100, registration C-GITP performing flight AC-942 from Toronto,ON (Canada) to Bermuda (Bermuda) with 88 people on board, was descending towards Bermuda Airport when approach control queried the crew stating tower had called them about sick passengers on board and asking whether there was an emergency in progress, the crew replied "negative". The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Bermuda's runway 12, was received by emergency services and taxied to a remote stand where emergency services checked passengers and aircraft.

Emergency services reported they were called by the tower that the A319 would shortly perform an emergency landing due to fumes on board with a number of passengers and cabin crew complaining of sore throats, headaches and eye irritations. Ambulances took three persons an urgent care center.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 3.5 hours, then departed for the return flight AC-943 and reached Toronto with a delay of 3 hours.
