A SAS Scandinavian Airlines Airbus A340-300, registration LN-RKP performing flight SK-943 from Copenhagen (Denmark) to Chicago,IL (USA) with 249 passengers, was enroute at FL340 about 170nm eastsoutheast of Keflavik (Iceland) when the crew reported the failure of an instrument in the cockpit and decided to divert to Keflavik, where the aircraft landed safely about 50 minutes later.

The occurrence aircraft was able to continue the flight the following day after about 16 hours on the ground and reached Chicago as flight SK-6943 with a delay of 18 hours.

The airline reported the aircraft had a problem with one of the instruments in the dashboard and diverted to Keflavik for a precautionary landing. The passengers were accomodated in hotels over night.
