A Sky Regional de Havilland Dash 8-400 on behalf of Air Canada, registration C-FSRW performing flight RS-7527/AC-7527 from Moncton,NB to Montreal,QC (Canada), was in the initial climb when a passenger notified the crew the outboard right hand main wheel had suddenly stopped during the departure roll and had started to emit smoke. The crew decided to continue the flight to Montreal. Upon descending towards Montreal the crew notified ATC of the problem with the wheel and requested emergency services on stand by for the arrival. The aircraft landed safely on Montreal's runway 24R.

The Canadian TSB reported that the right main wheel bearing, the brake, wheel and and axle assembly were replaced. The aircraft manufacturer is investigating the occurrence.
