A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-EKW performing flight FR-9524 from London Stansted,EN (UK) to Lublin (Poland) with 145 passengers and 6 crew, was descending towards Lublin when the crew aborted the approach at FL100 and entered a hold reporting problems with the flaps. The crew subsequently decided to divert to Warsaw (Poland) indicating they would land flaps up. On approach to Warsaw the crew advised, while otherwise maintaining routine communication, that a normal landing would occur. The aircraft landed safely on Warsaw's runway 11 at a speed of about 160-165KIAS (142 knots over ground) about one hour after stopping the descent to Lublin at FL100.

The airline reported: "This flight from London Stansted to Lublin (29 Jan) experienced a cockpit warning light indicating a possible flaps issue, which together with crosswinds at Lublin, caused the aircraft to divert to Warsaw Chopin. The crew alerted the Warsaw fire services and the aircraft performed a flapless landing, which was otherwise normal. The aircraft was inspected by Ryanair engineers who repaired the flaps fault and cleared the aircraft to return to service."
