An Air Malta Airbus A319-100, registration 9H-AEL performing flight KM-328 from Malta (Malta) to Frankfurt/Main (Germany), took a bird strike while on approach to Frankfurt's runway 07R but continued for a safe landing on the runway.

The aircraft was unable to perform the return flight however.

A replacement Airbus A319-100 registration 9H-AEM was dispatched to Frankfurt and reached Malta the following day with a delay of 16:15 hours.

The airline confirmed 9H-AEL needed maintenance following a bird strike on approach to Frankfurt, a replacement aircraft was sent to Frankfurt. The passengers were offered hotel accomodation.
