An Air Arabia Airbus A320-200, registration A6-ANH performing flight G9-522 from Chittagong (Bangladesh) to Sharjah (United Arab Emirates) with 161 people on board, was climbing out of Chittagong when an engine (CFM56) ingested a bird prompting the crew to return to Chittagong for a safe landing.

The flight was postponed to the next day, the passengers were taken to a hotel.

The incident aircraft was able to resume the flight the following morning and reached Sharjah with a delay of 21 hours.
