A Republic Airlines Embraer ERJ-170 on behalf of US Airways, registration N811MD performing flight YX-3377/US-3377 from Washington National,DC to Kansas City,MO (USA), was descending through 12,300 feet when the aircraft encountered a bird strike. The crew continued for a safe landing on runway 19R about 12 minutes later.

The FAA reported the aircraft received damage to the left hand leading edge and rated the occurrence an incident.
