An Air India Boeing 787-800, registration VT-ANK performing flight AI-803 from Delhi to Bangalore (India) with 147 passengers, completed an entirely uneventful flight with a safe landing in Bangalore and continued its schedule completing several other flights the same day.

India's media claim, that last Saturday, October 12th, a Boeing 787-800 performing flight AI-803, registration VT-ANA, arrived with a panel missing between the main gear struts, covering the heat exchangers, size about 3 square meters (32 square feet) and quote the airline and DGCA confirming the incident. The aircraft is said to have been grounded for repairs and to resume service on Wednesday (Oct 16th) after a replacement planel had been taken off VT-ANO.

The airline is said to have reported, Boeing was informed about the occurrence. A replacement panel is under way. The aircraft was repaired with the panel from another brand new Boeing 787-800 VT-ANO, which is waiting to be put into service and now remains on the ground until the arrival of the new panel.

India's Directorate of General Civil Aviation (DGCA) is said to have opened an investigation into the occurrence, according to offcials "quoted" preliminary results into the investigation suggest a possible riveting problem.

According to CH-Aviation and ATDB VT-ANA has not yet entered service. VT-ANA has not made an appearance on radar so far, too.
