A JAL Japan Airlines Boeing 787-800, registration JA832J performing flight JL-442 from Moscow Domodedovo (Russia) to Tokyo Narita (Japan) with 144 passengers and 10 crew, was enroute at FL410 about 1000nm northeast of Moscow about 2:15 hours into the flight when the crew descended the aircraft to FL400, turned the aircraft around reporting electrical problems and returned to Moscow, where the aircraft landed safely another 2:15 hours later.

Passengers reported the toilets didn't flush.

Russia's Department of Transport Central District reported that the aircraft carrying 144 passengers and 10 crew returned due to electrical problems.

The airline reported electronic problems with the lavatory systems caused the return to Moscow.
