A Frontier Airbus A320-200, registration N204FR performing flight FR-395 from Wilmington,DE to Denver,CO (USA), was in the initial climb out of Wilmington's New Castle Airport's runway 27 when tower inquired "do you need any assistance", crew replied "standby" then declared emergency. The crew was cleared to land on any runway but advised they wanted to divert to Philadelphia. The aircraft climbed to 3000 feet, the crew reported an engine fire indication for the right hand engine (CFM56) and diverted to Philadelphia for a safe landing on runway 27L about 15 minutes after departure. The aircraft stopped on the runway for an inspection by emergency services, fire fighters reported no signs of fire and no signs of engine damage. The crew subsequently taxied the aircraft to the gate, the emergency services were released.

The airline confirmed a mechanical issue, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
