An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190, registration C-FHNV performing flight AC-124 from Calgary,AB to Ottawa,ON (Canada) with 53 people on board, was enroute at FL390 over Lake Superior when the right hand engine (CF34) automatically shut down. The crew declared emergency and diverted to Toronto,ON for a safe landing on runway 24R and stopped on the runway before taxiing to the apron.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance identified an internal fault of the right hand full authority digital engine control (FADEC). The FADEC was replaced, the engine proved serviceable and the aircraft returned to service.
