A Thomson Airways Boeing 757-200, registration G-CPEV performing flight BY-6645 from Alicante,SP (Spain) to Cardiff,WL (UK), was on approach to Cardiff's runway 30 when the crew aborted the approach at 5000 feet declaring Pan and reporting problems with the flaps. The aircraft resumed the approach about 10 minutes later and landed safely on runway 30 at a normal speed about 20 minutes after aborting the first approach.

The incident aircraft was able to depart for the next scheduled flight BY-6684 about 2 hours later with one hour delay. The aircraft suffered another flaps problem the following day, see Incident: Thomson B752 at Cardiff on Jun 23rd 2013, flaps problem.

The airport reported emergency services were called but were stood down later without necessity to intervene.

The airline confirmed the crew declared PAN as a precaution due to a minor flaps problem and landed safely.
