An Expressjet Canadair CRJ-700 on behalf of Delta Airlines, registration N754EV performing flight EV-5249/DL-5249 from Atlanta,GA (USA) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 69 people on board, completed an uneventful flight with a safe landing on runway 24L. ATC instructed the crew to vacate the runway via taxiway D4, hold short runway 24R and subsequently cleared a company Embraer ERJ-145 for takeoff from runway 24R. While the ERJ-145 was accelerating for takeoff tower observed the CRJ-700 roll beyond the hold short line and instructed EV-5249 to stop immediately.

The Canadian TSB reported the CRJ-700 stopped just before the edge of runway 24R, the Embraer became airborne abeam taxiway D2 about 500 meters/1600 feet short of taxiway D4.
