A Pacific Coastal Airlines Saab SF-340A, registration C-GPCG performing test flight 8P-304 from Vancouver,BC to Vancouver,BC (Canada) with 2 crew, was on a low power descent through FL200 conducting a test of the ignition systems. After completion of the ignition test the crew attempted to restore power but noticed the aircraft yawed to the left, identified the loss of power from the left hand engine (CT7) and shut the engine down. The crew declared emergency and proceeded to Vancouver for a safe landing on runway 12 about 25 minutes later.
