An Aerolineas Argentinas Boeing 737-800, registration LV-CXT performing flight AR-1770 from Buenos Aires Aeroparque,BA to Iguazu,MI (Argentina) with 153 people on board, was climbing out of Aeroparque's runway 13 when the crew stopped the climb at about FL245, declared Mayday Mayday reporting the failure of the right hand engine (CFM56). The crew decided to divert to Buenos Aires's Ezeiza Airport. The aircraft landed safely on Ezeiza's runway 11 about 40 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration LV-CXS reached Iguazu with a delay of about 3.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground at Ezeiza Airport about 54 hours after landing.
