A United Boeing 737-800, registration N76504 performing flight UA-1189 from San Francisco,CA (USA) to San Jose del Cabo (Mexico), was climbing out of San Francisco's runway 28L when the crew stopped the climb at FL240 and returned to San Francisco for a safe landing on runway 28R about 115 minutes after departure.

The airline reported the aircraft suffered some tyre damage on departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration N73275 reached San Jose del Cabo with a delay of about 6:50 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in San Francisco about 25 hours after landing.
