A LATAM Brasil Airbus A321-200, registration PT-XPF performing flight LA-3776 from Brasilia,DF to Salvador,BA (Brazil), was climbing out of Brasilia's runway 11L when the aircraft collided with a number birds, the left hand engine subsequently emitted white smoke. The crew stopped the climb at 6000 feet and returned to Brasilia for a safe landing on runway 11R about 30 minutes after departure, vacated the runway and stopped for about 15 minutes clear of the runway before continuing to the apron.

The rotation was cancelled.

The airline reported the aircraft returned to Brasilia due to a bird strike.
