A Jetstar Airbus A320-200N, registration VH-A5E performing flight JQ-166 from Hamilton (New Zealand) to Sydney,NS (Australia), was backtracking Hamilton's runway 18L when the A20N was overflown by a Cessna 172 landing on runway 18L. The Cessna completed the landing without further incident, the A20N subsequently lined up runway 18L and departed and reached Sydney without further incident.

New Zealand's TAIC rated the occurrence a serious incident and opened an investigation.
