A post flight inspection revealed the bird had struck through the #1 slat on the left hand wing and penetrated a wing rib. Airline maintenance could not even temporarily repair the damage for a ferry flight to an Airbus maintenance facility, so that an Airbus repair team had to be flown to Wuhan for the necessary repairs.
