China Airlines B738 at Busan on Jun 12th 2025, landed on wrong runway

A China Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration B-18661 performing flight CI-186 from Taipei (Taiwan) to Busan (South Korea), was cleared to land on Busan's runway 18R however touched down on runway 18L and rolled out without further incident.

South Korea's Transport Safety Council confirmed they received such a report.

Taiwan's TSB also confirmed to have received such a report, they have contacted their South Korean counterparts.

The airline reported they have opened an internal investigation. The crew did not comply with tower instructions while landing in Busan.

On Jun 20th 2025 the TTSB reported that the aircraft was cleared for a VOR-A approach to runway 18R, the aircraft however landed on runway 18L. South Korea's ARAIB have opened an investigation into the occurrence, the TTSB is participating in the investigation.
