A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-DCY performing flight FR-1171 from Catania to Rome Fiumicino (Italy), was climbing out of Catania's runway 08 when the crew maintained low speed and stopped the climb at FL100 due to a flaps problem. The aircraft entered a hold and positioned for an approach to runway 08, where the aircraft landed safely at a slightly higher than normal speed about 45 minutes after departure.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Catania on Jun 7th 2025.

The aircraft had returned to Pisa on May 28th 2025 (flight FR-772) and May 30th 2025 (flight FR-6491).
