A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-DCY performing flight FR-2337 from Poznan (Poland) to London Stansted,EN (UK) with 172 passengers, was enroute at FL340 about 25nm eastnortheast of Berlin's Schoenefeld Airport when a male passenger (37) suddenly complained about pain in the chest and collapsed. While a doctor on board provided first aid and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the flight crew diverted the aircraft to Berlin's Schoenefeld Airport for a safe landing on runway 25 about 18 minutes later. The patient had to be pronounced dead upon arrival however.

Berlin's police reported on Jul 12th the man (37) suddenly complained about pain in the chest, became unconscious and could not be saved despite resuscitation by a doctor on board and continued efforts by medical staff awaiting the aircraft at the gate.

The aircraft departed Schoenefeld about 130 minutes after landing and reached London with a delay of 2.5 hours.
