A PSA Airlines Canadair CRJ-700 on behalf of American Airlines, registration N534AE performing flight AA-5432 from Washington National,DC to Des Moines,IA (USA), was on approach to Des Moines' runway 05 when a number of birds impacted the aircraft. The aircraft continued for a safe landing.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT STRUCK BIRDS, ONE BIRD PENETRATED EXTERIOR DAMAGING ELECTRICAL PANEL UNDER FIRST OFFICER WINDOW AND ANOTHER DENTED THE SKIN UNDER THE CAPTAIN'S WINDOW, DES MOINES, IA.", the damage was "UNKNOWN".

The aircraft is still on the ground in Des Moines on Mar 17th 2025.
