An ANZ Air New Zealand de Havilland Dash 8-300, registration ZK-NEA performing positioning flight NZ-5966 from Christchurch to Auckland (New Zealand) with 2 crew, was enroute at FL250 near Nelson (New Zealand) when the crew decided to divert to Nelson due to a air conditioning fault. The aircraft landed safely on Nelson's runway 20 about 20 minutes later.

The airline reported the aircraft suffered an air conditioning problem in flight prompting the crew to divert the positioning flight to Nelson.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Nelson about 6 hours after landing.
