A Swiss International Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration HB-IJP performing flight LX-1842 from Zurich (Switzerland) to Athens (Greece), was enroute at FL350 about 140nm southeast of Zurich in Italian Airspace when the crew decided to return to Zurich reporting their right hand engine (CFM56) had experienced an engine stall but recovered and was running normally again. The aircraft landed safely but overweight on Zurich's runway 16 about one hour after departure.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Zurich about 17 hours after landing.
