A Westjet Boeing 737-700, registration C-FWSV performing flight WS-628 from Vancouver,BC to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 116 passengers and 5 crew, was climbing through about 1100 feet out of Vancouver's runway 08R when a bird impacted the aircraft, the crew noticed abnormal indications for the left hand engine (CFM56), stopped the climb at 9000 feet and entered a hold to burn off fuel. The aircraft landed safely back on runway 08R about 30 minutes after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported abnormal engine indications for the #1 engine following the bird strike at 1100 feet.
