An Air India Boeing 787-8, registration VT-ANW performing flight AI-131 from Mumbai (India) to London Heathrow,EN (UK), was climbing out of Mumbai's runway 27 when the crew stopped the climb at about FL170 due to a problem with the left hand engine (GEnx). The aircraft entered holds at FL160 and FL120 and returned to Mumbai for a safe landing on runway 27 about 50 minutes after departure.

The aircraft and flight is still on the ground about 4 hours after landing back.
