A Gol Transportes Aereos Boeing 737-800, registration PR-GGL performing flight G3-1599 from Brasilia,DF to Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil) with 172 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL370 about 270nm north of Sao Paulo when the #1 engine (CFM56, left hand) completely lost power. The aircraft drifted down to FL200 and continued to Sao Paulo for a safe landing about 55 minutes later.

Brazil's CENIPA reported after working the related procedures in the manual the crew shut the engine down and carried on to Sao Paulo.
