An American Airlines Boeing 737-8 MAX, registration N306SW performing flight AA-2692 from Miami,FL (USA) to Kingston (Jamaica) with 136 people on board, was climbing out of Miami's runway 27 cleared to climb to 16,000 feet when the crew requested to level off at 7000 feet due to some issues. A few minutes later the crew declared PAN PAN due to control explaining they had a failure of the stabilizer trim. They wanted to remain at 7000 feet close to the airport while working their checklists. The aircraft positioned for an ILS approach to runway 27, advised they would be vacating the runway, and landed safely about 25 minutes after departure, no assistance was needed, they would appreciated however if fire command would follow them to the gate.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration N942AN reached Kingston with a delay of 6:45 hours.
