An Air India Boeing 787-8, registration VT-AND performing flight AI-143 from Delhi (India) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) with 231 people on board, was climbing out of Delhi's runway 28 when the crew stopped the climb at FL090 due to a slat drive indication. The aircraft entered a hold for about 40 minutes, then returned to Delhi for a safe landing at a higher than normal speed on runway 28 about 65 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 787-8 registration VT-ANR reached Paris with a delay of 5.5 hours.
