Aeroflot A333 at New York on Dec 22nd 2012, could not retract slats

An Aeroflot Airbus A330-300, registration VQ-BQZ performing flight SU-101 from New York JFK,NY (USA) to Moscow Sheremetyevo (Russia) with 297 passengers, was climbing out of New York when the slats did not fully retract and stopped in an intermediate position. The crew stopped the climb at 17000 feet, worked the checklists but were unable to resolve the problem and decided to return to New York. The aircraft landed safely back on JFK's runway 31L about 85 minutes after departure.

The aircraft was able to depart again after about 3 hours on the ground and reached Moscow with a delay of 4:20 hours.

Rosaviatsia reported following a computer reset the systems tested successfully.
