An American Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration N170US performing flight AA-895 from Cancun (Mexico) to Charlotte,NC (USA), was climbing out of Cancun's runway 12R when the aircraft received several bird strikes. The crew continued the flight for a safe landing in Charlotte about 2:07 hours later.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT STRUCK SEVERAL BIRDS ON DEPARTURE FROM CANCUN, CONTINUED AND LANDED, CHARLOTTE, NC.", the aircraft received minor damage.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 2 hours before departing for the next flight.
