A First Air Avion de Transport Regional ATR-42-300, registration C-GKLB performing flight 7F-840 from Yellowknife,NT to Kugluktuk Coppermine,NU (Canada) with 10 people on board, was climbing through 16000 feet out of Yellowknife about 35nm north of Yellowknife when the crew received a low oil pressure indication for the left hand engine (PW120), shut the engine down and returned to Yellowknife for a safe landing about 35 minutes after departure.
