A Commutair de Havilland Dash 8-200 on behalf of United, registration N368PH performing flight C5-4799 from Syracuse,NY to Cleveland,OH (USA) 20 people on board, was climbing out of runway 28 when the crew reported they were losing fuel out of the number 2 engine, stopped the climb at 7500 feet and returned to Syracuse for a safe landing on runway 28 about 10 minutes after departure. Emergency services found no trace of a fuel leak, the passengers disembarked normally.

The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto the next flight.

The incident aircraft was able to position to Cleveland later the day as flight C5-9874 departing Syracuse about 5.5 hours after landing.
