Yakutia B738 at Rostov on Dec 1st 2012, runway excursion on landing
Last Update: December 3, 2012 / 14:53:50 GMT/Zulu time
The passengers disembarked onto soft ground via mobile stairs, walked to the taxiway and were bussed to the terminal.
Rosaviatsia reported the crew had been using thrust reversers and brakes but found the brakes were not able to stop the aircraft before the runway end and thus decided to turn right. The aircraft came to a stop about 80 meters off the runway. The aircraft received damage to the left engine's (CFM56) fan blades.
