An American Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration N662AW performing flight AA-464 from Milwaukee,WI to Phoenix,AZ (USA) with 73 people on board, was in the initial climb out of Milwaukee's runway 01L when the crew declared emergency reporting the failure of the right hand engine (V2527). The crew stopped the climb at 3000 feet and returned to Milwaukee's runway 01L for a safe landing about 10 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Milwaukee about 74 hours after landing back.
