A Vueling Airbus A320-200, registration EC-KKT performing flight VY-2015 from Granada,SP to Barcelona,SP (Spain), was climbing out of Granada when the left hand engine (CFM56) emitted 2 or 3 bangs, sparks and streaks of flames. The crew reduced engine thrust, stabilized the engine and decided to continue the flight to Barcelona climbing to FL340. The aircraft landed safely in Barcelona about 60 minutes after departure.

A passenger reported the left hand engine emitted two or three bangs, sparks and streaks of flame, the aircraft jolted with each bang. The crew subsequently announced they had reduced thrust on the engine, all was under control and they would continue the flight. Summary of the passenger: "Was not a nice experience to go through".

The aircraft resumed service about 35 hours after landing.
