A Vueling Airbus A321-200, registration EC-MGZ performing flight VY-3015 from Fuerteventura,CI (Spain) to Barcelona,SP (Spain) with 204 passengers and 7 crew, departed Fuerteventura's runway 01 when the skin of a plate of the reverse thrust system separated from the aircraft without being noticed. In the absence of abnormal indications the crew continued to Barcelona for a safe landing.

Spain's CIAIAC rated the occurrence a serious incident and opened an investigation, stating that the minor damage was on only discovered by maintenance work following the flight. The indications remained normal throughout the flight, the thrust reversers were used normally during landing.

On Feb 9th 2026 the CIAIAC added, that a piece of the inner lining of the right engine's thrust reverser side panel broke off fragmenting into several pieces that were ejected from the engine and came to rest at the right side of the runway. No warning occurred in the cockpit, so that the crew continued the flight to Barcelona. The crew of the next departing aircraft noticed the debris, a runway inspection removed the debris, ATC advised the Vueling crew that debris had been found on their departure runway. After landing ground personnel inspected the engine, the aircraft sustained minor damage to the thrust reverser and exhaust nozzle of the engine.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Barcelona until Feb 1st 2026 (10 days).
