An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N868NN performing flight AA-415 from Miami,FL (USA) to San Salvador (Salvador) with 59 people on board, was in the initial climb out of Miami's runway 08R when the crew requested to maintain 4000 feet, they were working on an issue. After working the checklists the crew reported they had a fuel system problem and needed to return to Miami. The aircraft landed safely back on Miami's runway 09 about 35 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration N881NN reached San Salvador with a delay of 2.5 hours.
