A Delta Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-88, registration N987DL performing flight DL-1734 from Minneapolis,MN to Detroit,MI (USA) with 95 people on board, was enroute at FL230 about 60nm northwest of Grand Rapids,MI when the crew reported an oil problem on the right hand engine (JT8D) prompting them to idle the engine. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 35 about 15 minutes later. Emergency services reported they saw nothing unusual on the engine, no leaks.
