A Westjet Boeing 737-700, registration C-FWSI performing flight WS-650 from Toronto,ON to Halifax,NS (Canada), was descending towards Halifax through about 11,000 feet when the crew requested priority reporting a passenger had been disruptive and company had already arranged for authorities meeting the aircraft at the gate. The aircraft continued to Halifax for a safe landing about 12 minutes later. The passenger was taken into custody by Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

RCMP reported that the male passenger (24) had become agitated during the descent towards Halifax, subsequently became violent and punched a flight attendant. A number of other passengers assisted cabin crew to subdue the unruly. The man was arrested and taken to a hospital for psychiatric assessment.
